An Afternoon in the Park

Hello friends,

Sticking with the theme of a relaxing birthday week for Bryan (last week), he and I spend the afternoon on one of the days up at Frick Park which is only about a 5 minute drive from our house. The Braddock Trail is so beautiful and one of the nicest trails to just take a stroll. We packed a small lunch and sat on this lovely little bench by a small stream. I was actually surprised to see as many people on the trail as we did. It's a pretty popular trail for dog walkers and joggers.

As we walked along the trails, I noticed some really strange little things....like the carved castle on the end of the log, the log full of rocks and the octopus tree by the creek. If that's not a tree spirit, I don't know what is!! Also, can we appreciate the absolute ridiculous level of derp in the photo of me jumping up on the fallen tree...I was just a little too short and my bag a little too heavy. Bryan always gets the most flattering photos of me.

Taking photos of Bryan has turned into one of my favorite things. I really like catching him when he's not looking, the candids are always my favorite. Honestly, this blog is just an excuse to take a lot of photos and a place to share them that isn't flooding my IG or FB.

I think those of us that live in Pittsburgh are really lucky to live where we are. You can drive 20 minutes and get to the heart of the city or another 20 and get to those beautiful rolling hills of Pennsylvania. Bryan and I are extra lucky that we live so close to such a beautiful nature preserve like Frick Park. If you're in the area and want to get away without really getting away, check out the Braddock Trail it is really one of the most beautiful spots just outside of the city.
